Our Bands

Tongues of Fire are our professional ‘house band’. Blowing up a musical storm of brass, reeds and drums, this 8 piece band have been making people dance, dream, and celebrate for 20 years. The band was founded by our artistic director Tim Hill in 2004, and features musicians drawn from the worlds of free jazz, brass bands, contemporary classical, theatre and samba. The band was created to play in the street, on stages and concert halls, and to make music that is both adventurous and accessible. The band have played WOMAD, Durham Brass Festival, Inside Out Festival, Lakes Alive, Hull Freedom Festival, Baule d’Air, The Barbican, Wilderness Festival, Marsden Jazz Festival and many more Home (tonguesoffirestreetband.co.uk)
