In July 2022, some of the biggest names in street music came to Taunton for The Sound of the Streets Festival!
From ancient horns to Indian wedding bands, the festival brought 3 glorious days of music and celebration to the streets of Taunton. There were performances from a fantastic mixture of street bands from up and down the country including Riot Jazz Brass Band, Young Pilgrims, Kinetika Bloco, Bollywood Brass Band and Tongues of Fire
There were local groups, from Samba to town bands, as well as ancient horns, community street bands from around the UK and local school’s groups. There were also workshops and plenty of opportunities for people to join in.
We also also collaborated with Taunton Independent Market on the Saturday and Sunday, and Taunton was full of a wonderful array of live music, food, drink and arts and craft stalls. Something for everyone!
The festival has been made possible by a grant from Arts Council England and funding from Taunton and West Somerset Council.

We are also running mini Sound of the Streets events in Axbridge on July 3rd, Woolavington on July 16th and Bridgwater on July 23rd, all commissioned by Seed Sedgemoor.
