Thursday June 5 | North Curry Methodist Church

The spirit, sound and storytelling of New Orleans are coming to Somerset this June as legendary pianist, singer and raconteur Davis Rogan performs a special one-night show in North Curry.

Taking place on Friday 5th June at North Curry Methodist Church, this intimate concert offers a rare chance to experience authentic New Orleans rhythm and blues from one of the city’s true musical ambassadors.

Davis Rogan has lived and performed in New Orleans for more than thirty years, becoming a celebrated figure in the city’s rich musical culture. His performances blend the rolling piano grooves of Professor Longhair and Fats Domino with sharp wit, unforgettable stories and the infectious spirit of the Crescent City.

More than simply a musician, Rogan is deeply woven into New Orleans cultural history. He championed the city’s brass band revival through his influential radio show Brass Band Jam, inspired the character “Davis” in HBO’s acclaimed series Treme, and even taught Brad Pitt piano for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He has also appeared in programmes by the late chef and broadcaster Anthony Bourdain.

Audiences can expect an evening filled with classic New Orleans rhythm and blues, tales from decades inside one of the world’s great music cities, and the kind of joyful atmosphere that makes New Orleans music so beloved around the globe.

Whether you are a lifelong fan of New Orleans music or simply looking for a unique live experience, this promises to be a memorable night of songs, stories and grooves.
