Sound of the Streets Summer events 2026

An early evening treat in Goodlands Gardens with vibrant live music from the fifteen-piece Sound of the Streets band and summer beats full of brass from DJ Badger. The Shed will be open for cool drinks and snacks. The evening is part of The Sound of the Streets celebratory weekend. Bringing musical joy to the streets and spaces of Somerset, the Sound of the Streets band is packed with reeds, brass, drums and percussion. The band plays street music from around the world, especially New Orleans, carnival music. Folk, funk, ska, and soul and Somerset Songs. DJ Badger spins global grooves and beats at Oxfords Bossaphonic Nights, at festivals around the country and in woodland glades and dells. With funding and thanks to Taunton Town Council.

Latin America comes to North Curry with La Tromba, an Incredible global fusion band from Chile. La Tromba are a seven-piece band playing a rich mix of Latin funk, Balkan and Arabic music. They play horns, drums, percussion, bass guitar and vocals, and were founded in 2011 in Concepción, Chile and have since toured Europe many times, bringing their infectious sound to streets, festivals and clubs. They last came here in 2024 for the first Sound of the Streets festival and wowed audiences with their vibrant music and enthusiasm. A North Curry and Sound of the Streets coproduction. A rich afternoon of brass on Castle Green. You can hear the Incredible global fusion band La Tromba from Chile, The Sound of the Streets own big band and Taunton’s own Big Noise Street Band. All along with the lovely drinks, treats and munchables from Taunton’s Independent Market.
