The Sound of the Streets
The Sound of the Streets is teaming up with Taunton Independent Market to bring 2 Somerset based street bands to Castle Green. Known for their commitment to fostering community through music, Sound of the Streets will be supporting and facilitating the performances, adding an extra layer and spirit to the event.
Taunton Independent Market
Alongside the fantastic live music from 11 AM to 3 PM, Taunton Independent Market offers a diverse array of stalls featuring local produce, artisan crafts, and delicious food. It’s a perfect opportunity to explore and support local businesses while enjoying the community atmosphere that Taunton is known for.
The Little Big Horns
Get ready for The Little Big Horns, a 5-piece funky brass band from Somerset. This energetic group delivers infectious riffs, rich tunes, and wild solos, blending contemporary New Orleans brass, Ska, Balkan, Reggae, and World Music. Their drum beats, deep Sousaphone tones, soaring saxophone solos, audacious trumpet notes, and smooth trombone melodies create a vibrant and dynamic performance you won’t want to miss.
The Big Noise
Taunton’s own community street band, The Big Noise, will also take the stage, bringing their infectious energy and eclectic mix of tunes to Castle Green. Founded by Tim Hill for the 2012 Olympic celebrations and now led by Will Lang, this band features over 20 passionate musicians who perform at festivals, lantern parades, and events across Somerset. Their diverse lineup unites musicians of all ages and backgrounds, spreading joy and community spirit wherever they go. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or a first-time listener, The Big Noise’s performance is sure to be a highlight.
